REACH Directive

General Information on the Implementation of the REACH Directive (EC 1907/2006) at Saarstahl AG

The REACH regulation (REgistration, Evaluation and Authorisation of CHemicals) came into force in all member states of the European Community on 1st June 2007. Its purpose is the registration and control of all substances available on the European market, and the harmonisation of European legislation on chemical products.

The REACH regulation covers the use of substances together with the materials used in preparations and products. All substances are therefore concerned, whether or not they are dangerous.

Saarstahl AG complies with its obligations resulting from application of the REACH regulation, as a manufacturer and importer of substances, preparations and products, as well as its obligations as a downstream user of these substances. The steels produced by Saarstahl AG are considered as products in the sense of the REACH regulation, and cannot therefore be registered. Saarstahl AG uses only registered substances and preparations.

The uses of our customers are considered in the dossier.

Within European workgroups, we elaborate
•    safety information reports according article 33 or
•    safety data sheets (SDS) according article 31 and annex II  for dangerous substances
and make them available as soon as possible.
