First low-carbon steel from Saarstahl Ascoval arrives in Saarland
The first delivery of low-carbon steel from Saarstahl Ascoval, the new Saarstahl subsidiary in the north of France (Saint-Saulve), has arrived at the Burbach works. There they are rolled into wire and delivered to the first customers in the construction industry.

“Green steel” initiative: cutting carbon with H2Syngas
With “H2Syngas”, Saarstahl and Dillinger have joined with Paul Wurth, a Luxembourg engineering company belonging to the SMS group to use their own process gases and significant quantities of hydrogen in the blast furnace process. The associated pilot plant, which is being built in cooperation with Paul Wurth, is scheduled to begin operating this summer.

More energy and lower emissions – new circular cooler dedusting system benefits the environment
The new dedusting system for the circular cooler with an integrated heat recovery system at sinter plant 3 of ROGESA Roheisengesellschaft Saar mbH, a joint subsidiary of Dillinger and Saarstahl, is significantly helping improve environmental protection at the Dillingen location. The environmental project represents an investment of EUR 28 million.

LIBERTY Steel, Paul Wurth and SHS - Stahl-Holding-Saar sign Memorandum of Understanding to develop a major hydrogen-based steel making plant in France. Pan-European partnership will assess the development of a 1 GW hydrogen plant and 2 million tonne DRI plant next to the ALVANCE Aluminium Dunkerque site.
