Saarstahl certified with silver for CSR approach

23 September 2014

Responsible action and sustainable economic activity are an inherent part of the corporate culture of the Saarstahl Group. Furthermore, ecological commitment, taking the needs and expectations of all employees into account as well as open and transparent exchange with all further internal and external stakeholders, are of great significance to the company. The Saarstahl Group bundles commitment in this respect under the term of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

After an in-depth audit, the international rating agency EcoVadis, which has its headquarters in Paris/France, presented the Saarstahl Group with a silver award for its activities in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The CSR rating makes a contribution towards making the environmentally conscious and responsible actions of the Saarstahl Group transparent.

For this purpose, EcoVadis examined the CSR activities of the Saarstahl Group taking 21 criteria into account. For example, the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and International Organization for Standardization were considered for the topics “Environment”, “Work”, “Fair Business Practices” and “Sustainability in Procurement”. Since 2008, thousands of companies worldwide from ten fields of business have taken up the offer from EcoVadis. Included among these are German companies such as Bayer, BASF, Evonik and LANXESS - and now also the Saarstahl-Group.

The award is valid until September 2015.
